Do I need previous riding experience?

Not at all, we have a range of horses from gentle to spirited to accommodate riders of all stages.

What type of riding do you teach?

We believe a horse is a horse, and start with basic horsemanship that translates to all disciplines. When you are ready, we can move to a variety of sports from huntseat, jumping, and dressage in English; or roping, ranch work, western pleasure, trail/obstacle, and speed events in Western style riding. We also love playing around other disciplines, such as Working Equitation and sidesaddle! Just let us know your goals.

Do you have any restrictions?

Currently we do not allow children under the age of 6 to ride, and all riders must be under 250 lbs. Please let us know if you have any needs for physical accommodations for activities like saddling, mounting, or mobility issues.

Question 4

What do I need to wear or bring?

Accepted Answer

We require long pants and closed toed shoes with a heel. The weather is extremely variable, so comfortable layers and a secure sunhat are recommended. We also recommend bringing a bottle of water and sunscreen for the warmer days.

Question 5

Do I need to wear a helmet?

Accepted Answer

All riders under the age of 18 must provide their own helmet. Helmets are optional for adults. Please note we do not keep helmets in stock, so you will need to provide your own.

What if I can't make one of my lessons?

We highly suggest only signing up for sessions where you are able to attend all or most of the lessons. We only offer refunds if we have to cancel a lesson that you are not able to make up.

Question 7

What about bad weather?

We ride rain or shine, but value horse & rider safety first. We use a lightning tracker to monitor strikes, and will cancel if there are strikes in the area. If we cancel due to bad weather such as lightning, extremely high winds, or hail, we will do our best to reschedule for another day, give you a credit for future lessons, or refund the cost of the single lesson.

Question 8

Can my friend/partner/child watch me ride?

Absolutely! We recommend they bring a chair with them and sun protection. For their safety, please no unattended young children that may accidentally walk behind horses if they are unsupervised.
